Memories Tagged by Location (MTL):

The purpose of MTL is to allow users to tag a memorable/significant event in their lives to a specific place and share it with others. We imagined tourists, travelers, explorers, and storytellers using this form of communication when they encounter a fascinating chapter in their lives and attribute it to a location. People from all over the world can visit the Eiffel Tower, Central Park, or even a regular restaurant and not only capture how that place impacted their lives, but learn how that place was significant to others. Share experiences, be inspired by others, and for a moment embrace how connected we all are.

Remote Carpooling:

For people who spend a significant amoutn of time commuting to work via driving, it can be a stressful and/or boring experience. Since they have to be focused on driving, their options are quite limited in what they can do to make the most of that time. Many people listen to the radio or podcasts, but it’s a passive activity and there isn’t always something good to listen to. As a solution to this problem, we propose building an application that allows people who are driving to work to talk to a random other person who is also driving to work at the same time. This can be a fun, interesting experience that doesn’t require the driver to take his/her eyes off the road. People can choose to enjoy the company of another person who is also stuck in traffic and can make an otherwise unproductive, boring time useful and interesting.

Highlight Capture:

Highlight Capture is aimed to help you keep in touch with friends and family that live across borders or far away from you. It sets milestones for you to get a photo or record a short video each day. At the end of the week, it merges the photos and videos as well as your notes while capturing them and shares them within your group of friends and family on Highlight Capture. Although tools such as Skype and facebook have made it easy to talk to friends and family remotely, keeping in touch with them is still difficult. Many people leave their hometowns to study or work and don’t have enough time to regularly talk to their families. Even when they find the time, they might not have many interesting stories to share with them. As a result, Highlight Capture can help them to keep in touch with those people that they love.

Step 3) Final Collaborative Brainstorming

Step 1) Context and Situation Generation

Step 2) Individual Idea Generation

Our second step was to individually generate ideas based on both our own thoughts and the context list generated from step 1. We gave ourselves a 5 minute time limit and ended up with about 25 ideas per person

Our first step was to continue and build off the context excercise from class, trying to go for as many situations as possible

Our final step was to discuss each of our ideas, building off each other's ideas to generate new ones and combinging overlapping ideas. We ultimately ran out of post-its and settled around 60 ideas.
